I've just installed MAME on my pc but I don't know how to actually add the games to the program. I use mint 14.

Ok. This is the solution to install MAME on Linux. I have installed it on Mint 14, and it works great.

Make sure you install Nautilus and MAME from the software manager before you begin following the instruction.
