Trouble with tc4400

Post by BaconLT »

Mint works flawlessly on my HP Compaq tc4200 laptop, however installing it on my friend's tc4400 gives us trouble. The wireless card doesn't seem to be detected. Anyone else having similar problems?

Are you using elyssa? If it's a broadcom, try using this, it should work then.

I'm using Elyssa, but my card's not a broadcom. It's a:
Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02)

Strangely, the network manager detects wifi ap's but won't connect. Also, the wireless light on my laptop isn't lit.

as far as I can tell, this should work out of the box. I can't figure out why the blue wifi light is off, but it can detect access points and then not connect to them.

Take a look at some of these:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/200279

I am pretty sure that that is a broadcom chipset. In anycase, can someone who knows for sure confirm that?
