What things I should do before actually using the system?
Like update manager, setting up fonts.. etc..
But yes, update through Update Manager is a very good idea to do first. After that, it's really up to what you need--perhaps add some programs or games, perhaps customize a bit with wallpaper, themes, applets and so on.
