Hi phantommaggot,

I had a similar problem, and here is what I did: I can't tell you that it wil solve the problem but it's worth a try. From your posts, it seems you are trying to use the Windows driver with ndiswrapper. If you are, and it shows driver and hardware present, you probably have to blacklist the native drivers. Open terminal, and type this at the prompt:

lsmod

It will display a list. Scroll down and look for these two entries:

acx_pci
acx

If one, or both, are there, you have to blacklist them. Open terminal, and type:

sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

Hit enter. Enter your password. When the text editor comes up, scroll to the end and add these two lines:

blacklist acx_pci
blacklist acx

Click on "save," and wait for it to save it. Close gedit and exit terminal. Now you can reboot and see what happens.

I'm no Linux guru, pretty new at it. I'm only replying because I had some of the same problems and solved them, and because no one seemed to be able to help you. Since you like this distro so much, it would be a pity if you can't use it..

Best of luck,

A.

Go back to the original kernel and it will probably work fine. The new update should have given you 2 boot options for Mint.

kernel 2.6.17-10 and 2.6.17-11. Boot with the 2.6.17-10 and I'll bet it works. There have been some strange issues with 2.6.17-11.
