Giving Linux a whirl with older hardware

Post by TheMotorMan »

Hello all, I'm a PC enthusiast since the days of the Vic20.
Over the years I've collected 3, 8 input I/O sound cards to create a 24 track recording unit.
The motherboard is an Asus P4P800SE 3.4ghz with Mint loaded, my next step is to install the sound cards.
These cards are now long time obsolete for driver support as I now forge ahead with Mint in hopes of better results.
With XP there where periodic BSOD failures and I believe the drivers for Linux are available.
As I become familiar with this platform, I do look forward to improved results !!!

cheers,
Mark
