Simple userguide for Bit-torrent?

Post by T J Tulley »

I've searched Howto Forge and looked at LinuxMint Wiki: I need a simple set of instructions to use BitTorrent to download Elyssa - please!

I gather that I need a .torrent file - and that there are probably several versions. Presumably I can apt-get that, but what do I do next? I once selected torrent as download method, but got a screen which I couldn't understand.

Thanks for response to previous plea.

You need to have a torrent application installed in order to download anything. For Linux use Deluge or Transmission. For Windows use uTorrent.

Since your signature says you are using Mint 4 Daryna, you should already have a default BitTorrent client installed, right? Have you tried just clicking on the torrent file and saving it to your desktop? I think that is supposed to work. Good luck.
