Record/rip streaming media?

Post by funky_uncle »

I'd love to have a way to save some of the streaming video I watch. The format in question is mms, I think, and I'm watching it in the Totem video player. Searching the repositories, I only find programs to rip DVDs. Anyone in the know?

Miro is a good option for a stand alone program, otherwise you can get add-ons for your browser.

I didn't understand much of Miro, but I found out I can do it directly from VLC. It wasn't exactly intuitive for someone who doesn't know a whole lot about codecs and formats and abbreviations, but it's pretty straightforward once you know how. Thanks anyway :)
