I'm trying LMDE out. Like the idea of a rolling release.
I'm using the Cinnamon desktop, and I'm liking it very much. Clean and polished.
But it's not the fastest distro i have used.
Are there any tips and tricks to make it faster?
Specially it takes a long time to boot up if you compare it with an Ubuntu based distro.

Re: Tips to make LMDE faster
What type of CPU and graphic you used?
Cinnamon demands a lot of graphic.
If it is too slow, then, use other DE, such as Mate..

Re: Tips to make LMDE faster
Ubuntu has made a lot of work on booting time. Debian did not do this that's why Debian is slower.
But after that, your Debian system should be way faster than a Ubuntu based one...

Re: Tips to make LMDE faster
I restart my main Debian workstation at most twice a month after either a kernel upgrade or a system imaging with partclone. Boot-time is obviously not a priority for everyone. If you want a lightning-fast boot process, use a SSD as system disk
