Installed Linux Mint 16 32 bit. I'm having no luck finding a solution to get sound working. I've spent several hours researching and I'm stumped. I've checked alsamixer for levels and mute settings. Ran update manager, system says updated. Ran driver manager, it says no proprietary driver are in use. I'm still new to Linux, but want to learn more.

Hi gun3. I have had Mint13 and LMDE running on an R52 with no issues. I am guessing you have checked for sound on the external output jack ? Have you tried using another player like audacious ?
