While using Abiword on Mint 5, the screen usually momentarily darkens, though things are still visible. After that, Abiword freezes. I can get out it by killing the process on System Monitor.
If anyone has any insight on this, I'd appreciate their remarks. Thanks in advance.

Try starting abiword in a terminal to see if it has any error messages. Just type and hit enter.
