Hi you all,

What is the code to fix E:Error, pkgProblemResolve ?

When I try to update I get the message:
ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR
E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages

I already tried the following:
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get remove evolution-plugins
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

I didnt help.

So now I have no idea what to do.
I noticed this thread ( http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.p ... 5&t=145835) but I still don't understand it. Is there a simple code to fix this problem?

Open Synaptic > Edit menu > Fix Broken Packages

First time I had to use Synaptic (i'm a newbie) I couldn't figure out which package was broken. Nothing happened when I used ' fix broken packages'. I must have done something wrong. I will do some more research on how to use Synaptic;-)
But I did solve the problem. I used the command sudo apt-get dist-upgrade to figure out which package caused the problem. It was gimp-plugin-registry. I removed it and then I could update.
Hopefully I can re-install the package without causing any problems.
