Error for Update Manager.

I recently tried to refresh my Update Manager but been getting this error.

E:Unable to parse package file /var/lib/apt/lists/security.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_saucy-security_main_i18n_Translation-en (1), E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened."

I am unable to refresh the packages. I am also unable to open my Software Manager, think it might have the same problem. I am having Linux Mint 16. How do I fix this issue.

Oh Great I found the solution here it is:

sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
