It's like everything. When there was 30 active people on the forums I could help every single one of them, now that's there's 100 I don't have time to answer all the posts... and Yes, that's also why there's paid support, for people to jump the queue and get "all" their questions answered.

Hello Blacklinux
It is an expected situation when the number of new Mint users is increasing so fast.
I agree with you. There should be more support offered to new- comers, especially.
But of course, this can't be done by a single person. I myself have been trying to offer as much knowledge as I have, which is not much, because I have plenty of spare time and like to help others since others have helped me.
So , maybe this is the time and place to make a suggestion:
Let us have an organized support group ; dedicated, experienced volunteers.
Regards,
Always willing to help as much as I can.

Problems?
Hello, blacklinux.
Just like you, I'm a newbie, and by coincidence, I've used Macs for many years. While that gives me an excuse for not knowing much about Linux, It doesn't excuse me from making my own efforts to learn before begging for help, or for rudely and inarticulately demanding assistance.
I started using Mint two months ago. I don't use it because it's pretty. I use it because it works. If Ubuntu worked better, I'd use Ubuntu. I have a hard time understanding why you uninstalled a perfectly working OS, just so you could come here and princess, unless you just want attention.
Yes, I had problems. I had no sound, no wireless, bad resolution, and couldn't mount my Windows HD to read and write. All of them were solved by searching in the forums, mostly Ubuntu's. Didn't even need to ask a single question. I started by realizing that I'm not unique or special, and that others have had the same problems before and solved them. I am grateful to all those who shared their solutions, and left them for me to find.
As it is, you may find a better reception for your questions if you stop acting like a petulant child.

This issue is neither new nor unique to Linux Mint. I've used Linux for over three years now (and still consider myself a newbie); but have participated on several distro forums and have learned tons by just reading.
Also, these "helpers" get paid zero, they do it because they actually want to help.

If my guess is right then he already was on the Ubuntu forums and behaved the same way as he did here. What's next? Mepis? Fedora? SuSE?

Good Evening Scorp,
How are you?
Now that I found you, can I get some help? I downloaded flightgear with Synaptic but where did it go? I can't find it.

Hello Husse,
I'm glad that I have some company here. I, as a matter of fact, have two grandsons and a grand daughter.
I am trying to stay young though. Keeping active and in touch with people, even in the forum, is a good way.
And thinking young is very helpful. I believe that life is too precious and too short to waste our time taking everything too seriously.
Greetings from an old friend.
