Linux mint 17 KDE one channel audio output [Solved]

Hi all,

After installing the mint 17 KDE RC edition I noticed that I have only one channel sound output on my soundcard. This problem persists after applying all recent updates. The card is detected as "SB0570 SB audigy SE" and used to work fine under mint 14 KDE. Information about the card is as follows:

When I use the onboard audio controller both channels work, also the soundcard works fine under Windows 7 x64. Both VLC and gstreamer backend have this problem. I would be glad to receive feedback on this problem.

Maybe you'll find a hint in my help (see signature), chapter 5; especially I would search in the forum and the NET for your codec output.

Dear seeley,

Thanks you very much for your help. Running "alsamixer" and selecting my soundcard revealed that somehow the audio channel was turned off. Now everything works. It is however somewhat puzzling that it is not possible to change this parameter in Kmix, is it not?

One day only with LM 17 KDE, I'm sorry that I don't have further ideas.
I've read somewhere (last year, I suppose it was on)

that you can store the alsamixer setup with a special command, but I can't remember in which post.
