Hi!
How can I play wma music files in Mint 17?
And where can I find the w32codecs package?
Thanks.

Hi - wma files play fine for me in Mint 17 with the VLC media player.. What media player are you using?
Re: Mint 17 don't play wma music!
It's possible you're using wma lossless, which can cause problems. You can try converting it to flac (flac is lossless so you won't lose any sound quality) by opening the terminal and typing:
avconv -i /filelocation/filename.wma -acodec flac /filelocation/filename.flac
If that doesn't work you could also try running a program called fre:ac on a windows computer (I used this approach) and converting it to flac that way.
Here's a forum thread of other methods people have used.

Hi!
Yes, the files are in wma lossless. I've tried opening them in various programs, including vlc, but all crash.
However I already solved the problem. In windows I converted the files to FLAC.
Thanks!
