Here's my new Elyssa install after a few tweaks, as I'm running a 1600x1200 monitor, all the window fonts have been upsized to 12 from the standard 10 and the lower panel raised to 28 pixels up from 24 and quite a few other changes under the hood, it's all good. :D

Another season, another wallpaper. The numbered stars are data partitions. Thanks to Magnus for the tip about Screenlets.

red-e-made, that is a very nice desktop.

One thing I find awesome about Linux is that you don't have to upgrade to get these special effects and nice desktops, it's all for free. With Windows, it's quit the opposite.

Just to clarify, this post was made by me, so if a moderator could merge these two posts, that would be appreciated. I thought I was still logged on :x .

Yeah the appearance settings are a huge plus for me. The sheer amount of themes available is just one aspect - I've seen forums where Windows users talk about torrents for cracked versions of themes. I can't imagine having to deal with that much hassle.

Theme engines for Windows, at least XP, is buggy and unstable, and they are all years behind Linux (I think if we go two or three years back in Linux, and look at Windows today, they are still years behind :))
