[Q] Software manager issue
I have linux mint 14 Mate and When I try to download anything from software manager the Ongoing processes go to 1 and it says 50%. Then the Ongoing processes go to 0 and it goes back to say Install as if I never pressed install in the first place. Could someone help me?

Re: [Q] Software manager issue
The first thing you should do is start Synaptic then choose Settings menu > Repositories. Where it says Download from, choose Other then click Select Best Server. Finally, back at the main screen, click the reload button.
Try installing an application once more after doing that.

Re: [Q] Software manager issue
I tried opening synaptic and this happend
Code: Select all
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to
correct the problem.
E:_cache->open() failed, please report.
Re: [Q] Software manager issue
Same problem. Goes to 50% and stops. Did the Synaptic thing and got this in a dialog box:
'Unable to get exclusive lock
This usually means that another package management application (like apt-get or aptitude) is already running. Please close that application first.'
These things may be running, but I don't know it!!
Help!!!
