I have already discovered how to install Mint onto a USB drive in 'LiveCD' mode(http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2007/10/31 ... /#more-270), but what I really need is a persistent USB install. Does anybody have any idea how to do this?

Re: [UNSOLVED] Installing PERSISTANT Linux Mint on 4GB USB Flash
Hi!
Mike.
I've never yet managed to achieve this with Mint ... so I too would be interested to hear from anyone who hasEchoLynx wrote:I have already discovered how to install Mint onto a USB drive in 'LiveCD' mode(http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2007/10/31 ... /#more-270), but what I really need is a persistent USB install. Well, I got it to install Ubuntu using the following guide(http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/05/15 ... /#more-401 and I had to use lilo- not grub.), but OMG it is SO SLOW- about 3x SLOWER than LiveCD speed. I don't think this is for me- or I have to go uber-lightweight. I am going to try Puppy Linux next, to see what I can achieve.

EDIT- Okay I am really getting frustrated here. I just want to play RuneScape (a MMORPG) in High Detail on my main computer- with a hard drive that is off limits. So I have 3 (what I thought to be simple) requirements:
1. NO HARD DRIVE USEAGE- I do have a 4G flash drive I was willing to dedicate, but after getting Ubuntu on it and seeing how long it took just to get a Splash screen, I decided USB was not for me.
2. I need Java and a Java -enabled browser. (FF works fine.)
3. I need the driver for my PNY GeForce 8500 GT video card.
Is it so much to ask!??
I was wondering... is it possible to have the session 'saved' between reboots- like in Puppy linux? That way I can reboot to install my graphics driver and stay using LM.
