greetings all!

my name is dwf, iam currently an information technology student studying for my a+ certifications.

i was wondering particularly for programming and coding what are some beneficial programs i should be looking into? total beginner that is. like C+, java ect?

i currently have pythons total beginners course and guide ive been getting into on windows pc. but want to focus more on the skills then the enviroment. but eventually would love to contribute, study, and of course learn.


but long story short if someone could point me into other certifications, or programs/books and areas i should also focus in on i would be very greatful.

my a+ grant does allow for me to take network administration + for cert or server administration. but iam undecided and still just focusing on completing a+ atm.

anyhow sorry to ramble, hope to network with all positive individuals

would you recommend me not having multiple boot pc as my main pc? currently its win 7/8 and I was trying to get the LM cinnamon flavor on there but I think I need to disable my NVidia because it freezes after loading from usb.


personally, I want to pursue what will keep me employed and HAPPY. after watching revolutionary OS Linux, I don't want to support mainstream OS anymore and would rather contribute freely with members of this community and for Linux as a whole. Learning valuable languages and certs along the way.

what is a cheap and easy system that I can put LM on to not compromise my main familys pc? possibly a cheap laptop/netbook or pad? I use to have an acer aspire ONE that was triple booted with 10.7.8, win 7, and Ubuntu but I want to totally dedicate to LM.

which msce and redhat certifications would you suggest? I think both could be extremely valuable for employment opportunities alone but would prefer to stay with redhat.

my acer aspire ONE came preloaded with xp..but I sold it.. do you have any specific netbooks or laptop/pads youd suggest? I seen Lenovo t series on here as a hot item but I want something cheap and bare essential

What's with your username? Seems like a bit of a disparity from love and peace.

while i understand your point, unless you live here in the city i dont think you understand how dier the situations and problems we face everyday. and the username isnt meant to be a general interpretation of what is to COME of detroit, its a snapshot of the present state its in.
