I'm an experienced Windows (and actually DOS) user (and abuser) . I have managed a small PC hardware webshop and serviced some computers along the way and a lot of the problem folks have are software - why did you click ok to install that malware.....and in Windows unlike in Ubuntu based distros it gets installed.
Anyway I thought I'd have a look at Linux (again). I have always considered it to be a truly complicated way to do something that could be done easily, and with not so good result.
Not so with Mint!!
There still is a bit to much poking around in a terminal for my taste, but I can tolerate it And installing programs from Synaptics is easier than in Windows.
So i like Mint and will use it as my main OS in dual boot with XP - can't completely get rid of that, I have some essential programs that are Windows only.
And if a few more adjustments go my way I'll certainly contribute a sum of money as well - especially now that I found my disapeared "master password" so I can find my Paypal password
I'll also hang around in the forum to see if Ican help and get helped.
Long time ago since I got so exuberant....
I have made MInt my default OS

Hello Husse,
Glad to have you join the Mint group. I myself am running Win.2K Pro with Mint Bianca and I love it.
