Hello everyone!

Post by c-3po »

Hey!

First of all: I'm really sorry, I accidentally crossposted my first post about my problem in two topics (newbie and hardware) because I didn't realize that the post needed approval first. I am absolutely sorry and I know it's my fault. I hope I don't get excluded from this forum, I promise to pay more attention the next time!!

Now I'll tell you some things about me :) :
I'm a 22-year-old girl from Germany, I go to university (I hope to graduate soon, but I'm too lazy to start with my bachelor thesis...), and I like reading, music (I play the piano), movies and tv series, and of course my friends - but unfortunately I don't have any really fancy hobbies. ;) I'm sorry if I make any mistakes in terms of language. I have been learning English for a long time now and even lived in the US for some time, but it's of course not my native language. But I'll try my best. :)

I had been using ubuntu for a short time when I was a teen, and it didn't work out that well because I wasn't able to deal with the software manager ;) , so I gave up after I bought a PC with Windows (I still have it, but it's Windows XP). Last November I needed a new netbook, and so I started again with Linux Mint. I love how someone who is not good with computers and not familiar with how they really work (I can't program things etc. except for some netlogo) is still able to use it. Another thing I like is how it runs fast and without freezing even though my netbook really isn't a good one.
I decided to join this community after encountering some problems for which I need help, but intend to stay longer in order to learn more about Linux, Linux Mint and its users.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Good to know I wasn't the only one this happened to.
Thank you!
