I'm coming from xubuntu and I'd like to know how to change that background image on the main panel.

I don't think that is possible but you can change the text and background colours by right clicking on the menu,choosing preferences, then the 'colors' tab

but I found out that it was just a matter of changing themes
btw, another dumb question: if I keep this rc1 installed, can I upgrade it when the final version comes out?
