Hi everyone. I am not a new Linux user, nor even a new Linux Mint user. I have used various distros over the last 15 years. I currently use Linux Mint 17 (primarily with KDE), OS X, and Windows 7 for various reasons. I started with MS-DOS 2, so I have been using computers for a while. I thought I would join the forum to interact with other LM users about this great OS. Last week, I upgraded from LM 13. I want to learn more about shell scripting, as I can see they are much more powerful than DOS/Windows batch files. I am recently retired due to a disability, and my last few jobs involved a lot of advanced modeling in Microsoft Excel. Now I can spend time expanding my skills. I am 61 years old, but still young at heart and very tech literate, and enjoy technology a lot.
I live in beautiful Colorado, and hope to both learn and contribute here.
Greetings from Colorado USA

Greetings, RK! Thanks for your thumbs-up vote for Linux Mint! It is truly one of the greatest, if not the greatest, of all distros.
Colorado is beauty! Used to live in Colo Springs years back. Still love to visit Estes Park every so often. Just gorgeous!! Retiring there, ahhh, you are blessed indeed!!
