F-Spot does a much better job than Picasa for my money. Wine is such a cantankerous beast, even when it's been highly modified to just make one app work.

I finally did get it install by installing the Deb, but on the virtual machine I am testing it on Picasa 2.7 is dog slow and unusable. The cpu is always sucking up 30% even at idle. F-Spot works really well.
