Linux Mint! - Getting Hooked

Yeah,
I read it. I'm sort of trying to advertise it as much as I can so it stays
around. It's a really good distro for people switching from M$.

I'm a programmer by trade, but other than a handful of unix commands I sort of
know (for dealing with Oracle Databases), I am a long time M$ guy.

Before anyone flames me, I think I've proved that while I'm a M$ guy, I'm not
(by any stretch of the imagination) a fanboy.

I used to be. When Windows 3.11 for Workgroups came out, I became a convert.
Prior to that, I liked Dr. Dos. However, 3.11 for Workgroups was, in my
opinion, the best Windows ever written. It was stable, and it worked. Until XP
came out, everything else was garbage. I got re-converted by XP. Again, it was
about 500% better than 95, 98, 2000 (and don't even talk about ME).

However, when I started looking at Vista's EULA, I got sick to my stomach. I
already had problems with WGA, the same ones I have with RIAA and MPAA deciding
that I'm a criminal and the only thing keeping me honest is them riding me like
a jockey in the Kentucky Derby. I'll never buy a Vista machine. I'll buy an XP
Machine (And I plan on buying a new XP laptop and multi-booting it with a Linux
install). But never Vista.

Anyway, I've rambled on a bit, but the point to all this is that Mint is very
simple, and very easy for someone like me who wants to get into Linux, but has
no practical knowledge of it. It avoids the 'frustration factor' that turns
people like me off. I know that factor is not something I should let get to me,
but not having it is a *huge* bonus.

So, I want lots of people to follow Mint, so that it becomes very popular and
sticks around for a long time. The only way I know to do that is to plug it as
hard as I can whenever I can.
