How do you convert to mp3

Post by dw5437 »

How do you convert a store bought cd to mp3 format ? I have Exaile, Amarok and
Madman and Serpentine. I don't know if any of these will do it because I can't find an option for it. Any help appreciated.

If there are any dependencies then "apt" should automagically handle it. No need to hunt for separate packages

I use KAudioCreator, but you also need Lame as previously mentioned.

Using both grip and k3b converts to .ogg format. I can't find an option in either to convert to mp3 which will play in my car. What am I missing ?

Hi
Lame is not installed as a depency, it has to be installed as a
package, that is for grip, install the go to setup.

K3b, install libk3b2-mp3, in K3b navigate to
CDrom in left hand side, select CD, open tracks,
left click on tracks and select "start ripping"

KAudiocreator is (in my opinion) the best.

Wow!! That took some doing. Now I understand how to set it up and it now works. I found ripperX the easiest to use and set up. Now I am going to try to set up grip and k3b. Thanks a million everyone.
