LXDE + Mint 5

Postby coderneedsfood on Wed Aug 27, 2008 8:28 pm

I've succesfully installed LXDE on mint 5 , i basically followed the tutorial here for ubuntu http://lxde.org/wiki/Ubuntu
then typed the command to remove GNOME completely :) .. i remove some of the other apps i don't need and now have an installed size of 1.2gb which is a pretty good candidate for a mini installer :) .. is there a trivial way to make a bootable image of my install ? or the packages , so i can repro this on other machines easily ?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

If you removed gnome completely there's a good chance you removed a chunk of Mint....
If you want to replicate it try Remastersys

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

sweet remastersys worked really well the ISO was 441 mb , still a lot bigger than i was expecting
but it booted directly into lxde , i don't know how to set the default wallpaper and things like that ( so i could make it look more minty on boot ) but thats more research for me :)
