I immediately add another panel on the top of the screen and put there mintMenu, Firefox starter, Quit button, a 4-screen Pager and the Clock. I like it much better.
Then, I install nvidia drivers with Envy, add gThumb, Acrobat Reader and The Gimp, reduce screen font size to 8 and that's it.
I used to add Beryl, but even tough I like it, it distracts me too much, I spend more time tinkering with its options than working
