Sorry, I'm not sure either. I've never tried that before. One thing I do know is that when you install Nvidia for the first time you have to run sgfxi, reboot, and run it a second time.I think to install cleanly from SMXI I should have purged all Debian Nvidia first. Not sure.

I do remember an error message while using sgfxi to install a newer Nvidia over the one I got from Debian (Using the OLD DDM-debian-device-driver). I am going to purge old Nvidia, upgrade and install new Nvidia (340.xx) with sgfxi. (Or at least that is the plan)..kurotsugi wrote:........................ if you want to use sgfxi AFAIK you need to remove the nvidia-driver installed in your system first.

And as if it wasn't enough, virtualbox-guest-x11 is removed if you upgrade xserver-xorg-core to version 2:1.15.99.904-1, because virtualbox-guest-x11 needs xorg-video-abi-15 - but xserver-xorg-core now provides xorg-video-abi-18.grizzler wrote:Virtualbox has gone south as well: https://packages.qa.debian.org/v/virtualbox.html
