Re: Linux Mint 21.2 “Victoria” Xfce – BETA Release
I don't know if this is a bug or something broke on my end. Somebody else needs to confirm this.
I installed 21.2 Xfce Beta in VirtualBox. When I open Thunar and View>Configure Toolbar... and enable all the icons the Compact View icon doesn't appear in the toolbar, as if the icon image file is missing or broken.

I believe I read in the release notes that what you experienced is a commonly known bug for this release.

Where did you read that? I don't see anything about Thunar toolbar icon bugs on any of these pages:JesseRBassett wrote: ⤴Fri Jun 23, 2023 6:48 pm I believe I read in the release notes that what you experienced is a commonly known bug for this release.

For me all the icons only appear properly when using Papirus icon themes.
When I use any other theme the "Compact List View" icon does not appear and in some themes the "Open in Terminal" icon also does not appear.

An update for the icon fetishist

Mint 21.2 XFCE Beta
Laptop Intel i7 Haswell
Is anyone seeing very abnormally high cpu on videos in browser? I just tested from a fresh install and a live USB session and Chrome/Firefox both have two threads running at over 75% when watching a youtube video at 720p. In 21.1 I get two threads at about 7-8%. This is nuts!
CONFIRMED: This issue is not present in 21.2 Mate or Cinnamon. Too bad this info can't be added to a bug report.

Is that *while* playing a video using software rendering and not hardware accelerated? Is the VM setup to use hardware acceleration and if so what video card?jackkileen wrote: ⤴Wed Jul 05, 2023 7:12 am 11% CPU usage max Desktop with display resolution @ 1920 x 1080 in VM environment.

Maybe you shall file a bug at https://github.com/linuxmint/mint21.2-beta/issues, and hopes Mint team can get icon themes managed by Mint cover all the icons required.rattkjelke wrote: ⤴Sun Jul 02, 2023 6:04 pmWhere did you read that? I just tried several different themes and icon packages and all icons including the Compact View icon are visible on the toolbar on all of them.rattkjelke wrote: ⤴Thu Jul 06, 2023 2:33 pm I was hoping somebody else can verify the problem is real.

In my test, all the Mint-X, Mint-L, Mint-Y icon sets fail the compact view icon in Mint 21.2 xfce beta live session. They are putting placeholder there.jackkileen wrote: ⤴Thu Jul 06, 2023 3:04 pm I just tried several different themes and icon packages and all icons including the Compact View icon are visible on the toolbar on all of them.
By the way, your screenshot is extremely small and blurry. It doesn't serve as meaningful illustration. Is it a bug of postimg.cc?

Re: Linux Mint 21.2 “Victoria” Xfce – BETA Release
Since I found Adwaita icon theme also miss that icon, I think it may count as an upstream bug. (It is missing also in GNOME and HighContrast) But you will still need to create an acccount somewhere for https://gitlab.xfce.org/xfce/thunar/-/issues too. Or wait till someone file this bug for you.rattkjelke wrote: ⤴Thu Jul 06, 2023 2:33 pmI was hoping somebody else can verify the problem is real.billyswong wrote: ⤴Thu Jul 06, 2023 7:52 am Maybe you shall file a bug at https://github.com/linuxmint/mint21.2-beta/issues, and hopes Mint team can get icon themes managed by Mint cover all the icons required.

At postimg for me, mouse pointer turns into a + sign to enlarge image there.

It is blurry both from my phone and from my pc, both Firefox and Chrome/Chromium. The + sign enlarge a tiny photo in a very large but blurry photo. Even the "download original image" button is giving me the tiny thumbnail!jackkileen wrote: ⤴Fri Jul 07, 2023 4:59 amDisplays properly on my PC (original image size is 1092x865).billyswong wrote: ⤴Thu Jul 06, 2023 11:59 pm In my test, all the Mint-X, Mint-L, Mint-Y icon sets fail the compact view icon in Mint 21.2 xfce beta live session. Re: Linux Mint 21.2 “Victoria” Xfce – BETA Release
I looked at several other distros that use Xfce 4.18 and they all had the same "feature" depending on the icon theme used. This is something that Xfce overlooked or didn't even bother to test when they released the latest version of Thunar.rattkjelke wrote: ⤴Fri Jul 07, 2023 9:03 amThank you.
