Brightness cannot be adjusted LM21.3 - 64 bit Cinnamon [SOLVED]

Post by akred3 »

Hello everyone,

I bought a new laptop recently and setup the last version of LM 21.3 64 bit, with Cinnamon.
I noticed that I can't adjust my brightness tthrough the slider settings, even if I put 0%, it still very high (probably 100%)

Do you have some clue on how I can adjust it please ?

Here is my configuration :

In my case, in Mint 19.x, an update killed the ability to adjust brightness; it just stayed eye searing bright. I forget what the work around was because I found an applet that worked much better: Brightness and gamma applet.

I've used it in Mint 19.3 and, even though the graphics card in that machine is AMD, Mint 21.1. I'm color blind so I didn't mess with the gamma settings—I just left them at the default settings—and just use the brightness portion. To adjust brightness, I just left click on the applet's icon in the panel, then adjust the slider as needed.

Theses are the settings I'm using:
