Accidentally deleted my panel menu.

I know how to get the panel menu back, the problem is when I try to move it back to its original place (far left) it doesn't want to. I've made sure the panel is unlocked when I try moving it, it just seems to be fighting me constantly, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, any help would be very much appreciated. I'll check back in tomorrow and hopefully someone can help me out.

drag the menu icon all the way left before release.

I'm using XFCE. Yeah I'm dragging the menu icon all the way over but when I release it just goes back to where it was. Like I said before I have no idea if I'm doing something wrong or maybe its a bug with XFCE?

Try pressing ALT+F2 and type xfce4-panel

Do as woaf said to execute xfce4-panel --preferences or right-click on panel>Panel>Panel Preferences.

Then click on Items tab and move whisker Menu to the top using ↑ button on the right.
