Problem : Screen stays black when booting live CD.

Solution for me:
in Boot menu :
Choose safe vga Mode ..
Press F4 - vga = 1024x768
Press F6 - type "live" behind text
Enter - boot
while booting press "strg+alt+F1" for comand line
Wait until it apears ... normaly you should hear loginsound from Mint meanwhile ...
type "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg"
choose NOT autodetect video hardware.
choose vesa driver ...
Press ok untill you reach : monitor charaktaristics: choose medium
use some Videomode your Monitor can use ... for me 1024x768@60 hz
press enter untill youre back in comandline.
Press "strg+alt+F7" --- blank screen again ....
Press "strg+alt+backspace" ...should see comandline again ...
After that you should see the Gui of mint

This took me noob hours and much googeling ....
may it help some Noobs to
Would aprechiate an absolute failsafe mode in boot options ... maybe i dont know the "cheats" ---- vga=vesa diddnt work .... but ... frustration level for average Windos User will fast exeede limits and he will use Vista ... ugn ... shouldnt be necessary ...
