Epson XP 245 won't print correctly and is not listed in Mint printer list

I have an Epson XP 245 printer. In installed the drivers from a terminal using the install script here: http://support.epson.net/linux/en/imagescanv3.php#linux_mint It's the Linux Mint 19(LTS) 32bit (i386) version. However, when I go to Add a printer, it does not list the correct model in the list s...

Re: Epson XP 245 not working

I managed to get this working by changing the default drivers that were loaded to a different one in the database list.
SO, must be an issue with the default identification on Mint.

I plugged in the usb and mint 19 installed the generic epson driver (32bit) When I print I just get letters down one margin of the page but not the correct documents. Re: upgrade from 14 to 17 or 18?

Would this work? I have done the 14 to 15 already... Honestly, I would normally go straight to 19 but I'm installing for a family member remotely and trying to get them to plug a USB key into the right place is difficult :) 15 to 16: $ sudo sed -i 's/raring/saucy/' /etc/apt/sources.list.d/official-p...

Re: upgrade from 14 to 17 or 18?

by backup in this case you mean copy files onto a USB then copy them back?
...and reinstall apps?
There's no way just to upgrade and keep all the current files without doing that first?

Re: upgrade from 14 to 17 or 18?

as everyone has already said - - anything below LinuxMint 17 is now off-line, and so you can only install LM19 or LM18 or LM17, thus that is the order in which you should consider, as well. :) you will also need to perform a Clean Install - as well. - what is the current HDD layout :?: is there any...

Re: upgrade from 14 to 17 or 18?

it must be done via USB or DVD, i prefer the USB...its much quicker than a disk...do not rely on it to keep your files unless you have already configured your present system with a separate "home" partition...it is easier to do what i already said to you regarding backups to USB...just open up "fil...

Re: upgrade from 14 to 17 or 18?

oh. Is there a way to download it and then install using the terminal or must it be done using a CD/USB? If CD install, will it prompt me to keep current files? What about the mintupgrade tool? Is there a generic Epson driver for version 14? I downloaded 18 from the Epson driver site but it's not wo...

upgrade from 14 to 17 or 18?

I'm trying to upgrade from 14 to 18 but cannot find the correct release to put in my apt sources list. Any ideas what I should run here? $ sudo sed -i 's/quantal/raring/' /etc/apt/sources.list $ sudo sed -i 's/nadia/olivia/' /etc/apt/sources.list Fully update the system: $ sudo apt-get update && sud...

[SOLVED] skype 8.1 32bit?

My laptop is 32bit and used to run skype 4.3, which no longer connects.
Microsoft ended support for it.
They only provide 64bit for Linux.
How can I get skype running on Mint?

And have you verified that you can access your encrypted files when the logs are deleted? The thread tells me how to dele...

log files filling up my computer

Every day my Mint is getting 100% full. I delete the log files, which frees up around 4Gb of space! I've tried sertting auto rotate and trying to stop logging but nothing is working. Any ideas how I can prevent this? I think the system must be putting out very verbose messages or something to the sy...

Re: no keyboard, no mouse!

It is a Toshiba.
I did this before I saw your reply:

"GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT quiet splash" to read "quiet splash i8042.nopnp=1 i8042.dumbkbd=1".

Not exactly sure what those parameters doÉ

no keyboard, no mouse!

Just installed 17.3
I get the login screen but cannot do anything. mouse is stuck and no keyboard.
I cannot get grub up as it does not recognised shift.
Weirdly, after restarting multiple times, it sometimes works, then the next reboot doesn;t work.
