[Bug Report] URLs can not be dragged onto the desktop from C

This problems seems to be dependent on which browser you are using, with Firefox it works as expected, however it does not work at all with Chrome or Chromium. This is strange behavior since that ability is probably controlled by the operating system not the browser. I think we can call this a Linux...

[Bug Report] URLs can not be dragged to desktop from Chrome

In windows, to copy a url to the desktop I would just drag the URL from the address bar to the desktop. Done. From my experience in Cinnamon that is not possible, the only way to get a URL onto your desktop is to copy the URl, click a bunch of gui buttons to create a desktop launcher, then manually ...

Re: Cinnamon "grid" icons

Just chiming in as a new user. Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon is my first experience with Linux and for me it's really these small things like having properly aligning desktop icons, as well as many many other small details that are really turning me off from Linux. I just don't have time for this BS, and i...

[Google Chrome] How do I select the whole url on mouse click

When using Google Chrome in Windows I could just single left click in the address bar and the whole url would be selected. I would really like to have the same functionality now that I have transitioned over to Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon. This has been driving me absolutly crazy and I have not been able...

Hey DesuDesu,

Would you mind posting what themes and setting you have there? The green mint theme has been driving me crazy and you seem to have found a really nice alternative that I would like to use as well, I like the menu icon too, nice job.

Re: Shutdown button only logs me out of desktop

I tested out several desktop environments and found out that the shutdown button in Mint 14 MATE 64-bi works properly. Mint 14 Cinnamon 64-bit: Shutdown button only logs out Mint 14 MATE 64-bit: Shutdown button shuts down properly Mint 14 Gnome (Classic) 64-bit: Shutdown button only logs out EDIT: I...

OK, I see, so there are 2 separate but similar problems here.

I have a separate thread here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=118051 for anyone that is having the "logout" problem.

Re: Shutdown = Restart (ie.. Mint 14 will not shut down)

Just to be clear the problem that I am having is that the shutdown button is causing the computer to "log out" of the desktop, at least for me the shutdown button has never "restarted" the computer. I tested disconnecting my wireless connection and also tried turning off the wireless switch on my la...

Re: How to set Battery Treshold Thinkpad

I would also really like to know how to do this.

In Windows I was able to set my laptop battery's max charge to 80%, and now when I boot up Linux the battery setting is still maxed out at 80% which is good, but now I have no idea how to edit those settings.

Re: Shutdown = Restart (ie.. Mint 14 will not shut down)

I'm having the same problem, the shutdown button just logs out but does not shut anything down, although for me sudo shutdown works but it's not an ideal solution, I really wish someone would chime in with some assistance. If there are 3 of us here with this problem then there are surly many more pe...

Shutdown button = Logout (Mint 14 will not shut down)

Hi, So I am running Linux Mint 14, Cinnamon, from a USB, with persistence, with the help of Universal-USB-Installer, and when I click on the shutdown button Linux logs out but nothing shuts down. I am able to shutdown via the terminal using "sudo shutdown -h now" OR "sudo shutdown -P now" but this i...

Re: User account help

Hi all, I am a complete noob when it comes to anything Linux based, I currently have Mint 13 Cinnamen installed on a USB pen, The reason for not completely installing yet is so my Wife and Son get used to it first but with the option to jump back into Windows if required (planning on going complete...

Re: Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon Wireless Won't Connect

This was the very first thing I did when loading Linux for the first time and similar to the previous posters the wireless GUI button got stuck in the off position after I turned it off, but running the following code in the terminal fixed the problem, no reboot required. sudo rfkill unblock all
