Re: Which Mint?

I would suggest the normal Mint 10 main edition as 32bit version, for you system. The main Edition is based on Ubuntu where you have more recent applications, If you chose the Debian Edition, you would have too a very nice OS but you need to work with older Software Version what mean less features, ...

Re: Linux become more like Windows!

Yes Linux has a lot more freedom than Windows, and yes I know that more installed applications will not really slow down the system as Windows do it. I know that in Linux I can remove everything, not as in Windows where Applications like IE are burned deep in the system and because all of that reaso...

Hi, I start with my first PC experience --> the first OS I had been working with was Windows95, here at the Installation I had the choice which Applications are installed with the OS, because of the little HDDs in that time, I installed it every time with the minimum possible, only what I need. Afte...

Re: Very bad Internet Conncetion ONLY wiht Mint10

personal, I don't believe, because for me it is not a Problem from Mint, it is an Ubuntu Problem, but I'm a mint User so I ask here, I think the Mint Community should support every Problem in there Distro and not only specifically Mint"improvement" Problems. I have bought now a Fritz box 7570, an fo...

Re: Gnome or Unity for Mint 11

Hey, you cry for something that is not yet released! Gnome 3.0 is not yet released, ok you can test the beta... but how it will work, how fast how stable.... in the Final Version non of us can tell that! For the Unity Desktop Version whit compiz, the same think, or worse, some of you are already cry...

Re: Replace Grub with Burg

After reading this threat, I have tested Burg, and I like what I see, so I vote for Burg.

But in general my boot(and loader)-screen are very ugly since I have installed die official ATI drivers. Befor the that installation the boot-screen was nice, but the desktop had many glitches...

Re: Back to Mint [in some way]

It is done :-) Virtualbox >> Mint4Win >> Full-Install --> since my full-install I had started Windows only for Games. Mint 10 is great, ok I have needed some modification like an other Theme (perhaps I'm the only but I hate the new Mint-X-(Metal) Themes), LibreOffice, Chromium, and some other app......

Re: Ubuntu Unity or Gnome

I think we only must see what the future bring, watch on the first 11.04 Beta.... and than make a choice. For the moment Unity is designed for Netbooks, and when they will make it as Default Desktop, they need to optimize it for bigger screens, at the moment it is really hard to say if it become som...

Re: Will Mint 11 follow the Ubuntu way?

From Yesterday, I was think a little about Unity, and in some Way it is very similar to Gnome-Shell, so it is not a Question if Mint follow Ubuntu, but more, how the Desktop will change in 2011? Gnome as we use it for the moment will disappear in some way. And Tools like the MintMenu (that I realy l...
