Bluetooth issues
I am running Mint 20 Ulyana, on an HP Elitebook 2170. Bluetooth stopped working. I really don't know when, I rarely use it. It does work however from a live USB flash drive. This is what lsusb shows from the live boot vs the installed system. It sees the device, 8087:07da but does not recognize it i...

Re: What's the best CAD DWG File Viewer for Mint?
I personally like Qcadcam, been using it for a little over a year. I just switched Linux flavors to Mint and cannot get Qcadcam to run. Librecad will. It appears to install correctly. If I try to run from a terminal I get command not found. So I'm pretty sure some dependency is missing. Judging by t...

Re: Installing with no-cd or USB boot
USB not supported in bios. On the post screen there is an IDE 1 failure where the CD should be. Tried a different CD drive and the same error. I would say toss it and get another but I sort of like the challenge. I've never done a LAN install before, could be interesting.

Installing with no-cd or USB boot
I was given an old laptop and asked to install Mint if possible. The cd drive will not function and it will not boot to USB. Will boot to LAN so I was initially thinking of that. Another thought though is to take out the hard drive and put it in my desktop as slave. Create two partitions and use une...

Re: Desktop folder shortcuts
I found a simple way to do this, thought I'd share in case anyone else wants to. Open a terminal on the desktop, I did by right clicking the desktop and open in terminal. Then type ln -s /media/n_spect_r/STORAGE/files (folder address). Now there is a shortcut to the files folder. I just have to be s...

Desktop folder shortcuts
I have installed Mint Mate 15. I have a storage partition on my drive with folders that I regularly access. I'd like to place shortcuts or symbolic links from these folders to the desktop. If I right click and choose make link, I get an error. I realize that the partition would need to be mounted fi...

Re: Getting 1024x768 working on Asus 1005-HA
Thank you so much, this actually looks better than the Jupiter display. There is an issue though, if I go back to 1224x600 I have to pan the screen off the sides.

Re: Getting 1024x768 working on Asus 1005-HA
I have the same problem. Tried settings with Jupiter and I can not get to the bottom of the screen. Same thing with xrandr, using these lines from terminal re-sizes the screen but again the mouse will not move to the bottom. xrandr --output LVDS1 --mode "1024x600" --scale "1x1" x...
