Re: Upgrade from 18.3 to 19 and so on to 20?
This sounds worrying for your plan of in-place upgrade from 18.3 to 19. I look at the LM19 download page and the ISO images there are named linuxmint-19-cinnamon-64bit-v2.iso. I wonder if the "v2" wording is related to your issue. Maybe, it was a few years back: but if I recall I was aski...

Re: Upgrade from 18.3 to 19 and so on to 20?
I do not disagree with an ISO as a last resort, but that would be a DVD here, but looks like Mint 18 has no burner by default.
Tutorials say xfburn, but that is for XFCE not Cinnamon. What is the DVD ISO burner for Cinnamon called?

Re: Upgrade from 18.3 to 19 and so on to 20?
Which desktop environment did you use in your LM 18.3? Cinnamon, Mate, or Xfce? They are not running the same terminal program and thus may be the source of difference. Try changing the "Limit scrollback to" setting and see if you make it set to a equivalent of unlimited. If there is no w...

Re: Upgrade from 18.3 to 19 and so on to 20?
If a Clean install is required I can't use Mint. The sole reason I am "upgrading" is there is no other way to update Firefox and Chromium on Linux Mint. It is a massive overkill to update the whole OS just to update the browser, but with the latest browser push these days nothing works onc...

Unfortunately In have never had to use those instructions :o , they were provided by someone else, use the ones provided by xenopeak. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=235992 Use the instructions in his listing not the community URL. Those are the same instrutions: they link to...

Re: Updates not working 18.3
Do that mean if I can not upgrade to Mint 19.3 by then I can never upgrade to 20+
I have always done a fresh install, but it is looking like ```apt install mintupgrade``` would let me convert to 19 and then step up?

Re: System restore disk?
This is going to be a process. I am looking closer at the root and seeing things like /var/tmp are almost 3 GB. Any reason I could not del all these flatpak-cache-0KXJE0 folders from there? What do they do? I think part of the reason this is losing free space is alot of things in /tmp folders but I ...

System restore disk?
Is there a good utility for burning a system restore disk?
Basically, I need to change my root partion size; but would prefer to avoid resetting up my system if I can avoid it. Basically looking to burn a DVD that would install my current system and setting on the new partitions.
