Finally I've found the solution. This page was very helpful. The reason of the problem is that the power-button-event is handled by both acpid and gnome-settings-daemon. All I needed is to disable acpid handler by commenting out the "action" line in /etc/acpi/events/powerbtn as follows: #action=/etc...

SOLVED - Poweroff timeout

Hi
I've installed Linux Mint 14 MATE x64 and I've got a few questions.
In power management settings I've selected "Ask me when the power button is pressed", but when I really press the power button the question window does gets shown, but then immediately the computer shuts down. What's wrong?
