Re: Mint 14 KDE?

Running KDE 13, can't wait to try the 14RC. BTW, wonder if the kernel in 14 will support RT372 chipsets? Having a beast of a time trying to get a Rosewill RNX-N600UBE to run on Linux. Prior Rosewill adapter ran like a charm right out of the box -- this one, no such luck....

Re: Mint 11 Kernal Panics

Several more kernel panics later, and I made the move to Ubuntu 11.04. I wanted to see if I would have the same issues on a hard-drive install of 11.04 since it and Mint 11 both share the same kernel. So far, no issues after about 4 days with 11.04. However, I'm still a "Minty" at heart an...

Mint 11 Kernal Panics

Is anyone else experiencing kernel panics with Mint 11? Three or four times, usually while running Google Chrome, a kernel panic has resulted in the CPU going to text mode and locking up the session. It may be that Google Chrome doesn't play well with this kernel?

Re: Linux Mint 10 "Julia" released!

I had been running Mint 5 (Elyssa) for a while because I couldn't get my networking to cooperate. When my Linksys wireless-n bit the bullet, I went to a Motorola Wireless Gateway and gave 10 a shot -- even though I expected the same results since Elyssa. Oddly enough, it worked, I installed Julia, a...

Re: Mint 6 ndisgtk & ndiswrapper utilities

AK Dave: I wouldn't even know where to begin -- I've never compiled anything from source code before (I think that's what you were suggesting). Would it be as simple as looking at the code in the Mint 5 version of ndisgtk and then copying the code to the code for the version in 6? If so, I'd be will...

Re: Mint 6 ndisgtk & ndiswrapper utilities

I thought I would give this a try.... I went back into 5 and, basically, copied every single item I could that had to deal with my network from the Network Proxy, Network Settings, and any other network utility I could see. Then I loaded the 6 LiveCD, did the ndiswrapper .inf install, etc.. Everythi...

Mint 6 ndisgtk & ndiswrapper utilities

Is there a way to force the versions of ndisgtk and the ndiswrapper utilities that were used in Elyssa into Felicia without breaking anything? The reason I'm asking is that in Elyssa (and Ubuntu 8.04), my wireless worked perfectly after I installed the .inf file, selected the correct ssid, tkip, and...

Felicia & 8.10

Was wondering if anyone else is having wireless issues with Felicia and/or 8.10? All was well with Mint 5 and 8.04, but something somewhere has changed with Felicia & 8.10. Still using ndiswrapper (flawless in 5 and 8.04) -- my wireless tells me I'm connected but anything requiring internet acce...

Re: Linux Mint 6 "Felicia" RC1 released!

Is anyone else having internet & update connection issues with Felicia? I've noticed on both Ubuntu 8.10 and Felicia that even though it shows that I'm connected to my wireless network (with 3 bars @ 54%), I cannot connect to either Mint Update nor can I get to internet sites. :?

Thanks!

Re: KDE Synaptic

Thanks to everyone who helped -- I found it, got it working, and it works like a charm.

Not to sound sappy, but that's just another added bonus about Mint -- the forum members are awesome! If you could put a price tag on Mint, it would put MicroSux out of business!

KDE Synaptic

I'm using Mint KDE for the first time (been a Minty customer since Daryna). I've decided that I really like KDE but I really hate Adept. Looking at Adept, it says that Synaptic is installed, but after searching and searching, I have absolutely no idea where Synaptic is hiding its precious self. Firs...

Mint 6 DVD

Just wondering if a Mint 6 DVD is a possibility for those who would want it, with the proverbial kitchen sink included? I know we can go to the repositories and use Synaptic, I just sense a bit of laziness emerging on my part and would like to be spoon fed. Waaa.....

Re: iPod

CavalierBob, Thanks for the advice. I did a fresh install of KDE 5 last night and didn't really have time to mess around with Adept. I've been using regular Mint for a while and it's my first foray into the Mint KDE world. Does Adept have a history of being kinda flaky compared to Synaptic? Reason I...

Re: iPod

Does gtkpod play well on Mint KDE 5? I know it's supposed to be for gnome environments, but I wondered if anyone had used it in KDE and what the results were.

Thanks in advance!
