HDD churns, Processor runs at 100% and swap is activated after Alarm Clock runs it's alarm (a song). This started happening after the last several mint updates. Swap is usually at 0% otherwise.

How do I get music to play in the order that I put it in a folder?

Re: Record Vinyl

I bought a used Tecnics SL-D20 turntale, $3. Already had a Pickering P mount cartridge and Stylus. Already had the GE Phono Pre-Amp from years ago. The $29 Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222 USB Audio Interface worked fine. Used Gnome Alsa mixer and Audio Recorder to record the Vinyl. I could not detect any...

Re: Record Vinyl

I recorded from turntable to GE 23292 phono pre-amp to "3D Sound" USB stick using Audio Recorder (not to be confused w/Sound Recorder) The sound was a bit distorted on the high end. Didn't expect much. I suspect USB stick can not handle the pre-amp. I used the GE pre-amp on my Heathkit AR15 Receiver...

I do not have a "line in" on my laptop I did Turntable -> phono-preamp (in regular stereo amp/preamp) -> stereo's line out -> mic i...

What hardware do I need to record from Turntable to my laptop? I connected turntable to phono pre-amp to mic input on the laptop. Had too much gain.

How about software?

I ran the following commands: inxi -F | more sudo du /home -xh | sort -hr | head - h 15 ncdu sudo apt install ncdu ncdu The first line of ncdu showed 424.3 GiB - on sdb!? There was no drive sdb. No other drive connected either. Disks gui ID'd the drive as sda. Adding the 423.578 to the total below b...

[Solved] Home Is Full

I booted 18.0 Cinnamon 64bit and got notice that there was no room in Home. 750 GB HDD. An hour earlier home had about 250 GB in it. The drive is backed up to a 1 TB HDD which shows that home has about 250 GB in it. I had removed the 750 GB HDD earlier and was running a live session. I shut down the...

Re: Boot iMac to Live DVD

iMAC 2007 white 17" Does not boot to USB stick. No "EFI Boot " option. The stick is good. Boots to Dell laptop. Sorry, I forgot I went through this installing Linux on mid 2007 MacBook. I wound up using a mattgradient version of Mint. It has extra code telling the Mac to boot to the DVD, or USB stic...

Re: Firefox Never Worked (CPU lacking SSE2 support)

Looks like there are no 32bit CPU's that have SSE2. Makes me wonder why FF is included in 19.1 XFCE 32bit.
