I'll be honest, I dual boot with Windows 8.1. It's ok as I have to use it for work related programs. But my aim is to use Linux exclusively. I'm using Linux Mint 16 Cinnamon right now with plans to upgrade to LM17 when it becomes available. My experience so far is very positive.

Old but New

Hi everyone, I am a noob from the state of Tennessee, Right now I'm running Linux Mint 13 Cinnamon on my Acer Aspire A0722 with a dual core 1 GHz processor and 2 GB of ram.It seems to be very stable. I'm an old dog but I'm willing to learn new tricks.

I run Linux Mint 13 Mate on a 2 gb ram, 1 ghz dual core acer aspire a0722 netbook and have yet to have ram problems. I also boot with Windows installed (work) and it is more robust than Windows 7. I think the ram usage in Linux Mint is in fact better than Windows. I have a lot to learn about Linux b...

Hi FlyingPanada, I'm a noob but I saw your post and wanted to see if it works on my netbook. I had my screen to turn off in 10 minutes and the selection to dim screen toconserve power and after about 3 minutes my sceen did dim. This doesn't help you but I thought you might want to know it did work. ...
