warpinator unable to see computers on wireless network

:| :| I have a desktop computer running Linux mint 20 with MATE desktop and a laptop also running Linux mint 20 with MATE desktop connected via a wireless network. I can ping between the two and have the firewalls disabled on both machines, but am unable to see either host in warpinator from either ...

Re: Dell laser printer

This printer comes with a Linux driver from the manufacturer on the install disk. I was pleasantly surprised that the install went very smoothly, and I had no trouble. All functions seem to work 'out of the box', with the exception of scanning to the computer. The very easy workaround is to scan to ...

installing software updates/patches

How can I download software updates/patches, store them on a usb flash drive; then apply them to a different computer? I don't have access to broadband at home, so would like to use a fast computer to download the updates, store them on a flash drive, then apply them to my home computer. Is this pos...

Re: Firefox Starts in offline mode

Just tried the 'about:config' trick. It worked for me after I rebooted :D
"Open Firefox and type into address bar 'about:config'. Then search for the firefox config param named network.online.
double click on the filtered row and set it to true. Quit and restart firefox"

Firefox Starts in offline mode

Does any body have any ideas why Firefox starts up in the offline mode every time I start it? I know it is probably a default option that needs to be set, but it's not real intuitive where I change it on the preferences menu. I am running Elyssa on a Dell desktop with dial-up internet access (no bro...

Re: Partitioning

It worked :D Thank you so much :!: I mainly wanted the extra space available to install different Linux distributions to try them out. I thought I knew alot about drives & partitions, but never thought about performing operations on the drive currently in use. thanks again. Here is a current snapsho...

Re: Partitioning

Good suggestion. I just tried it on my laptop by highlighting the extended and clicking Partition from the top of screen,'
but all options except 'Manage Flags' and 'Information" are grayed out (as shown in the screenshot)

Re: Partitioning

Hi, I decided to try the install again to test out the partitioning editor, but got similar results. First, I downloaded the complete Partimage ISO (http://www.partimage.org/Main_Page) and burned it to a CD. Then I booted my computer with the Partimage CD. I deleted the 3 logical partitions I mentio...

Re: Partitioning

Yeah, that seems to be the problem. When I created the extended partition, I requested all of the available space after the end of the third primary partition to the end of the drive. The problem seems to be that the space at the end of the last logical partition defined is not assigned and is marke...

Partitioning

Hi, I wonder if anyone has run into the same problem that I have with the GPARTED partition editor: unallocated space in the extended partition becomes unusable. I have a 232.83 GB hard drive (sold as a 250GB hard drive [fdisk -l reports it as 250.0 GB]). I have the first two partitions defined as w...
