Re: GRUB timeout in LM20

on most of my dual_boot PCs, the time out is set to either 10s or 5s,
& depending on which system, that I'm tending to load the most often.

and I've an preference for some sort of delay, as that will still give access to the other system.

that method only works IF, you have already used those Search Engines.
else you will just get the default of that list of six .. where half of them are not an True Search Engine,
but rather an eCommerce site, instead.

Re: Unable to install Linux Mint 20 on new 4TB external drive

that's very odd though .. it should be formatted to NTFS, if anything. :o plus, being such an large drive, you could create several partitions, depending on what you intend to use it for: /EFI boot 1000 (1GB) / 50000 (50GB) /home 1 - 2 Tb /data 1 - 2 Tb Swap space 8000 (8GB) - equal to 8 GB of RAM o...

If you've got a (retail-, I believe) key then you can download one directly from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/software-download/windows7. You can also always use the old Microsoft DigitalRiver mirror. No you Can't - - their DigitalRiver site - - is offline. but .. if you have an Valid...

Re: installing windows 10 on linux mint Tricia dell laptop without any partition

so, that is the standard, single partition, that is the New Normal. - - in 64 bit mode - - so there is an EFI partition, as well. :) therefore, use Gparted again, from that LinuxMint Live Media, & move the SDA2 to the RHS, some what, depending on how much room, that you wish to make available. - - y...

When I restarted and manually chose the Linux drive it just hangs on a black screen with a cursor and won't star
that black screen, may be because Linux can find it's own drive:
- what are those extra HDDs used for ?.

Re: notebook display constantly turning off and on again

it might just be me, but min/max: 933/1600 MHz is a bit too slow,
in what I've found out .. you could just Install the Mate Desktop, into the current Cinnamon,
& try that out, instead .. via Package Manager aka synaptic.

Re: notebook display constantly turning off and on again

the CPU in that HP Pavilion, may be an bit too lightweight,
& even though there is plenty of available memory.

you could try re-installing again, but with the LinuxMint Mate Desktop, instead.
