all of those usb sticks - were designed to work on that windows system - not so much on an mac / linux system - the bigger sizes also come as fat64 / exFAT formatted - rather than fat32, for example, and linux doesn't always play nice with the supplied fat64 file system. thus, what you should do, is...

after you have done what SMG has asked for . . the Windows Boot Loader is probably blocking the Linux Boot Loader :arrow: try booting with the LinuxMint Live Media aka your usb stick, then Run the LinuxMint Boot Repair Tool that is in the system tools area. do post, back here, on how that went . .

in the main - these cards were designed to be used with that Windows System
thus, when all else fails - it pays to go back to that operating system.
