Yeah - - their Read On - says: ""This data is based on the timezone selected at installation and not on IP address geo-coding. We do not store IP address. Re: Ubuntu publish 18.04 user statistics

the assumption would be, that the Linux.Mint.Project would have similar statistics as well.

but there is some oddities like - No Users in North America ?
- according to that World Map, anyway.

it does seem that most folks are re-cycling their machine, based on those lower hardware spec's.

Re: Burning an audio CD

as a rule, I've always used 'Brasero' as it comes with the system,
but I've also used both K3b & XFburn as well & they all seem to work okay.

as far as any extra needed files, the file called 'libmp3lame0' should be already installed,
and is used for those MP3 conversions.

generally - you would save as MP4 format, but again, I've always burnt straight to Disk,, but again, that's also part of the Software that I'm using. the thing is, that getting this sort of stuff is to work on a Linux System is always Fun - - NOT  your main issue, will be, in obtaining the Har...

Re: Linux Mint 18.3 and Sublime Text

if it's freezing after an Hour or so, then that may be an Power Save issue, - or an screen_saver issue - - check both in Control Center. as a General Rule, those Hp Inspiron machine, do seem to work with Linux Systems, but the real issue, is often with the hardware customisation that the manufacture...

all of those hardware devices, seem to be Windows Based, & even the Hardware device, that I've got, is used on an old win-xp machine. most folks would suggest to use Handbreak ,, as the FOSS version when using Digital Sources. the Guy that I've always know & who does heaps of these conversions, is u...

interestingly the CLI output gives a different set of cards,
to what you found is supposed to be on that Motherboard:

Code: Select all

inxi -xN
can you confirm, again, what cards are on that Motherboard,
by using the above command ?.

an surprising amount of stuff is Not Tested by the Mint.Team as it comes from upstream,

Re: hard drive partition

With that being said, and since I don't hibernate my computers, I would partition it this way: /boot - 500MB (but only if installing on UEFI/GPT disk) /swap - 4GB or 8GB, depending on the computer I'm installing on / - 30GB (or more), I like to have a bit of wiggle room /home - the balance that's s...
