You clearly do not understand what Canonical develops, writes, supports etc...and what Snaps are.

Re: Any musicians out there using Mint/Linux?

I'm an amateur musician/multi-instrumentalist and I do all my audio production under Linux. Proprietary audio production software can be expensive and licensing can be daunting...that's why I'm glad Linux is a viable candidate for people like me. Most of my projects are done using Ubuntu 18.04 Mate ...

Re: How many are 100% Linux here?

Started dual booting in 2003. Wiped all Windows installs in 2005...been running nothing but Linux since then. Any new machine I get with Windows installed gets an immediate wipe...all partitions, including recovery partitions. It can be done, you just need resolve. If it can't be done in Linux, I'm ...

Re: Zen of File Management

One thing that I would like to mention about my management of over 800,000 files is that I keep zero files on my desktop. In fact I keep zero links or files on my desktop because in the Zen method, my desktop is my refuge from the world. When I look at my desktop, I do not want to see anything that...

Re: I do NOT miss winduhs!!

While I often tell beginners not to be too hasty in overwriting their Windows parrtitions I haven't had any WIndows for years. No, I don't miss it a bit. But I'm not a gamer. If I had a nickel for every new forum member that rolled in, breathing fire and cursing Windows (complete with dollar sign s...

Re: With the advent of Fuchsia the Linux devices share will decrease

What does Google take from you? Everything they possibly can. And then they find every possible way to make money off of it. What I do on the internet, as just one example, is none of Google's business, or anybody else's. The contents of my emails is none of Google's business, or anybody else's. Ev...

Re: Password to log in here...

I put all my passwords in plain text in a text file. Then I put the text file in a folder and encrypt the folder. So the only password I really have to remember from memory is the encryption key. I typically email myself the folder, or have it on cloud storage so I can pull it down to any new machin...

The OP has over 200 posts here and has to ask how to create a sub folder? My spidey sense is tingling. You'd be surprised. A friend of mine has been using PC's since the late 90's and doesn't know how to compress a file...use the "Find" feature and couldn't tell you the difference between a file ma...

Re: Why I no longer use Linux?

1. You mean the producer of that sound card doesn't write drivers for Linux. Don't blame Linux for that. I want to thank you for posting that. I finally had enough of Creative over 10 years ago after buying an X-Fi card that they "promised" they'd develop Linux drivers for. For me, they are probabl...

Re: Who no longer uses Windows?

My last dual boot was 2005 with Windows XP and Mandriva.
When Ubuntu 5.10 released, I decided to wipe my drive and do a fresh install...I had no reason to reinstall Windows, so I didn't.
