Re: Updating BIOS

Re: Updating BIOS

However, the easiest way is to apply a BIOS update from within Windows. Is there still a Windows on your machine? ' I have a dual boot Linux Box. I have no use for Windows. EDIT: I have extracted the .exe file and the contents of that folder were moved to the FreeDos USB. Rebooted into FreeDos. Aft...

Re: Installing another desktop manager

The problem with that, is that it will tend to be more of a ubuntu-flavoured KDE environment. To get the same one that comes with Mint, run sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install mint-meta-kde Definitely make a record of all the files that are installed, so if you want to remove KDE it'll be easy...

Re: missing boot files

I'm sorry, but could you be a bit more specific when you say 'it just sits there' what exactly happens when it 'sits there' ? Could you also tell which directory you looked in? Did you look in /boot or in a different directory? When you say that you checked the CD for boot files, was the CD an .iso ...

Re: Restart error messages

Put your output for these commands in the Code Tag.

Code: Select all

cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Code: Select all

cat /var/log/boot.log

Code: Select all

cat /var/log mintsystem.log

having a look through these log files might give you an idea.

Interesting case. Coincidentally, I had the same thing that Matt mentioned. Though I am not an AT and T customer. I had this occur with Chromium. For me, it was a simple matter of clearing things with bleachbit and all was good.

Re: Radio Tray

It's probably not able to buffer enough. It's not the BBC who is at fault, it's the capability of not yet having enough buffering to allow further streaming to occur. That's my opinion. And if my opinion is correct, honestly I don't think that there's much to do over it. Have you looked at the bugtr...

Re: Keyboard not working correctly and sound issues

sorry for late reply. Select your card to be pulseaudio. Right now, you are using HDA Intel. HDA Intel is an inbuilt card. do this: cat /proc/asound/cards If you see card0, card1 then indicates you have two sound cards. To see the number of cards, do this: ls -ld /proc/asound/card* | grep ^d To get ...
