Thought I would post this on the forums. I installed Mint Mate 18.1 64 bit onto my Dell Optiplex 755 with MSI Nvidia GT730 and SSD Had problems with freezing / crashing at random times, locking up. Mouse would freeze, or go really slow and jumpy, but no response to clicking. Sometimes in web browser...

Hello Minters I have moved over my office PC's from Mint 14 Nadia to the latest 16 with Cinnamon. Problem is all my PC's have been freezing and the displays scrambling. So over to your shell terminal and try some of this sort of stuff:- I'll do this example adding 1280x1024 to device TV-0 xrandr <-shows you what resolutions you have availible, you'll see a section called TV-0 or something then you'll need to work out what resolution you want to use say for example ...
