Re: Can I have cinnamon without nemo ?

Marlin or Pantheon. They are from ElementaryOS project, and I get them through ppa. :/ The best that could happen to me right now is : 1) Find a way to find theses functionalities on a more popular file manager (patch or wathever) 2) Find a way to launch marlin/pantheon through nemo or another that ...

Re: Can I have cinnamon without nemo ?

The real goal of all of it is "having a file manager that can handle coloration of the files", but I didn't find any trick to make that happen on nemo. x)

Re: Can I have cinnamon without nemo ?

(Why would you need multiple file managers?) For testing purpose, I don't want to panick my fellows be changing their PC irremediably. I'm doing all theses change on a virtualbox for the moment ^^ In that case, just install any other file manager and leave Nemo alone. Ho can I do that ? Switch from...

Re: Can I have cinnamon without nemo ?

Is that possible to do so without removing anything ? I mean. I don't erase firefox when i want to use chromium. Basically, what i want to do here is the following : use merlin or pantheon (theses file manager provide a way to "color" the files, and that is what my parents from OSX wants) ins...

Re: Can't Install / Uninstall

I don't really know how wine does to makes things works, and where files go and why.
I'm a playonlinux user, it does everything for me, I just have to tell what version of wine i want to use, and go. Everything is somehow in a "fake" windows architecture in a directory.

Re: What are your top tips for a Newbie?

@InkKnife : I don' totally agree. You can break a system quite fast enought using ".deb files" or not seeing what things are uninstalled when you install something.

If you use only firefox and LibreOffice, and a few "community" packages, no problem. More ? Not sure.

Playonlinux is also giving some few "pre-made" setup and scripts for a few major window's software.

Window manager - Nautillus instead of Nemo (heeelp !)

Hey, I come up with a problem. I don't know what caused that, but in "mint cinnamon", nemo isn't now the file manager of the desktop. Instead, i can see nautilus. Nemo is always the window manager by default. And when I drag a file to my desktop (nautilusà, it don't move but COPY the files :/ If any...

Re: Having problems installing Mint on a 2006 Macbook pro

Firstly i'm very sad you pick that up like a laugth. The smileys was somehow to say "god, i'm quite stupid, you have no OS, so no OSX, and mint is probably your first linux OS". That was. My english isn't that good, and I'm not a native. Also I had installed a ubuntu on macbook a few months ago, and...
